Directions
Prepare a béchamel sauce by melting 40 gr butter into a pan, to which you will add, by continuously mixing, flour , milk and salt. When the béchamel sauce is ready, clean fennels, cutting the tops and removing the external leaves, then divide them into four parts. Wash, drain and let them boil in boiling water for ten minutes.
In the meanwhile let some butter melt in a pan and add the fennels you have already boiled and drained. Let them get thoroughly brown and then put them into a baking tin. Pour béchamel sauce all over them and sprinkle with parmesan cheese, bake into the oven at 200° for twenty minutes. When you are sure that fennels are crunchy on their surface, take them out of the oven and let cool down before serving.
